If this is your first visit to Sweet Cheeks Beauty Bar or if you just need a refresher on how to prep for a wax, facial, spray tan, or eyelash extensions, please read our helpful guide of Do’s and Don’ts.
DO’S & DON’TS
DO prep for your wax: If you have a low pain threshold, we recommend that you take an anti-inflammatory, such as ibuprofen, about 20 minutes prior to your appointment. There are also numbing creams that you can apply to the area before a wax to lessen any pain.
DO allow for enough time in between waxes. Hair growth must be at least a quarter of an inch. When growing out your hair after shaving, it takes about 2 weeks from your last shave to get the hair to the optimal length. Allow for three to four weeks between each wax so that your hair grows to the right length.
DO inform your esthetician of any adverse reactions or allergies you may have had in the past when waxing.
DO let your esthetician know of any medications you or taking, even if you don’t think it will have any effect on your treatment.
DO make enough time for your appointment so that you’re relaxed when you arrive to the spa.
DON’T drink any caffeinated beverages prior to your wax.
DON’T come in for waxing if you are using or have any of the following conditions: Retin-A, Accutane, blood thinners, Cortisone, acne medication or any other exfoliates or Alpha Hydroxy based products.
DON’T have a hot bath, shower or get in a hot tub after waxing.
DON’T receive any chemical peels or Microdermabrasion treatments for at least 48 hours after a facial waxing service.
DON’T exfoliate your skin until at least 3 days after being waxed.
